Who we are

Portrait of a young man with dark hair and beard, wearing a suit jacket and tie, outdoors with blurred grass and cars in the background.

I'm Aaron Ridgway — founder of Ridgway Resilience and a maintenance and operations leader with over 10 years on the tools and in the planning rooms of Queensland's resources sector.

My background is in heavy industrial maintenance management across coal handling, mineral processing, and bulk materials operations in the Bowen Basin and Central Queensland. I've held senior maintenance and reliability roles at Tier 1 mining operations — managing backlogs measured in thousands of work orders, leading cross-functional planning teams, and driving reactive-to-proactive transitions at scale.

I know what it looks like when a site is running at 65% reactive work. I know what it costs — in overtime, in unplanned production losses, in superintendent time spent firefighting instead of leading. And I know exactly what it takes to change it, because I've done it from the inside.

In that time, I've seen the same pattern repeat:

  • Capable teams, real effort — and still reactive work above 60%

  • Backlogs measured in months, not weeks

  • Schedules built on paper and ignored by lunch

  • Overtime baked into the budget as a permanent line item

The problem is almost never people. It's the absence of operating-system discipline — the planning rhythm, the KPI cadence, the backlog controls, and the execution accountability that turn effort into results.

I started Ridgway Resilience to install that discipline in plants that are ready to run differently — without the overhead of a large consulting firm or the vagueness of generic advisory work.

Every engagement is fixed-fee, outcome-focused, and built to work without us once it ends.
